I'm writing this entry to give my personal view about her Youtube. I'm not purposely to condemn her action. Rather to voice out my thinking. It's really interesting at first to watch all her videos, but when reading some of the comment on the video. I was quite surprise. I personally think that different people has different ways of expressing themselves. Perhaps, Teacher sheida just do the same as what normal people would do. People always look at others weaknesses and blame to that person for acting silly. But i Think she has her own personal reasons. It's quite harsh to ask her stop dong things she like. Imagine yourself are asked to quit from things you really like from a stranger. We have the right to view her videos, but maybe we have to think twice before posting something offended on her Youtube. After all, she's not the only one who did the song miming.I bet any other people also did or ever try it in thier life. At the very least, anonymous outside there should give her some respect. there's no way to make people respect of yourself if you don't learn to respect other people first.
Secondly, I also think we are not suppose to be extremely judgemental about her. There's no way that she bother about your life. and for me. It would be rude to relate her normal n teacher life. She's a normal human being who has interest in this stuff. Being a teacher doesn't mean she deserve to be critised. She is doing a nobel work in her life. Teaching our children to be well being person. Showing the kids that there's nothing wrong to do what you like as long as it doesn't give bad effect to other people. I feel we should give some tribute to her for encouraging our kids to be themselves. It's just a part of teacher's role to be a good role model to students. And she's doing nothing wrong here. If her song miming activity is opposed by Malaysian Education system, Obviously all her videos would be marked as 'inappropriate'. and maybe she'll be fired straight away by doing this. I do feel that as a teacher we should encourage our students to be brave to express their ideas. In this case, recording a video n post to youtube can be a good example of self learning. Kids are not strictly asked to record merely a miming video. It could be about their experiences during study trip. a video about their family, mommy daddy brothers and sister.. n could be a feedback about what they learn in school. It sounds great, isn't it? The kids not only motivating to independently learning and develop their learning skills especially speaking. But also become more creative and thinking about their own learning. It's important to look at something in a different angle. We should not blame her for what she did.
I got many thing to write here. But i think this would be enough for now. Hopefully, she won't feel offended by those comment n continue her passion. I do respect her not only as a teacher-to-be but importantly as a normal human beings.
